Role Overview: Remote Environmental Engineer
The Remote Environmental Engineer will play a critical role in supporting disaster response and recovery efforts. Based remotely, this position offers the flexibility of working from home, although travel to disaster sites may be required depending on the needs of the recovery efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Environmental Impact Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments for proposed disaster recovery projects.
- Management Plans: Develop and implement environmental management plans and procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure all projects comply with environmental laws and regulations.
- Technical Advice: Provide expert advice on environmental issues to project managers and stakeholders.
- Project Analysis: Review and analyze project designs and proposals for potential environmental impacts.
- Mitigation Strategies: Develop strategies to mitigate environmental impacts of disaster recovery efforts.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in environmental impact assessment and environmental compliance.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal environmental laws and regulations.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) License: An added advantage for applicants.
- Disaster Recovery Experience: Previous experience in disaster recovery or emergency management.
- HUD Guidelines: Familiarity with HUD guidelines and programs is beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a base salary starting at $120,000 per year. Although it is a remote role, travel to disaster sites may be required depending on the needs of the disaster recovery efforts.
